I was born on 12th October 1947, at Bolghatty, Ernakulam (St. Sebastian's Parish, Archdiocese of Varapoly).

I had my primary education at St. Sebastian's School, Bolghaty ( Parish School ) and High School at St. Albert's H. School, Ernakulam.

The holy and examplary life of then parish priest, Fr. Sebastian Pattamana, inspired me to choose priesthood and I joined the minor seminary at St. Paul's Seminary, Dilkusha, Lucknow, in July 1966, for the Diocese of Jhansi.

I joined St. Joseph's Seminary, Allahabad in 1969to persue my philosophical and Theological courses, which I completed in 1975.

I was ordained priest on 29th February 1976.
